kalimudah 01s

We walked past the coffee and clove plantations, after a 5-minute walk through the bamboo trees that make up the gates, angga –our instructor – give a short briefing on how to use carabiners, cows tail, rappel, hand line, etc. Today we will explore Kalimudah. So Excited!

Preparation.

All participants arrive at basecamp adventure and spirit at Gitgit, pancakes and hot tea are readily available, the preparation before we the start the adventure. After a light breakfast, we change clothes, use canyoning equipment, anything are available in basecamp. From wetsuit, harness, helmet, shoes. After all the equipment is ready, we were escorted to the startpoint. It’s about 15 minutes drive.

Adventure begins.

We started with a mild trip, trekking on a small river, “it’s easy” I told Angga. “Relax, this is just the beginning, we still have a long journey.” angga said encouragingly. Soon we found a small waterfall, it’s time to practice what we get from our instructor, we could not wait to get off. Angga install handline and ropes to descend. Started by Kokak – assistant to get down and stay below. Then we turn to rappelling, rope made loops and put pirana carabiner, left hand grab rope, right hand to stop the motion. Legs should be straight, 90 degrees from the wall or cliff, slowly stepped backwards. Do not forget to smile, because Angga always ready with his gopro camera.

Lots of choices

Not only abseiling, if you are brave enough or need more challenge, there are some spots that can be used to jump. There is a height of 3 meters until 6 meters. Tips to jump: a strong foothold and do not think twice. If you are not sure to jump, you can ask zipline that is no less enjoyable. Every action has their own fun.

After 2 hours flows with the cold water in the river, finally the journey ended with soaking in the warm water pool, as he opened the snacks to restore our energy for return to basecamp. What a fun Journey! We are not feel tired especially when we are arriving at basecamp and greeted with Yummie Balinese Lunch.
